How can we close the periods for specific users?

Hi,

A posting period can be made available to only a limited set of users using the authorization group.

If only a limited set of users is to be able to post in a particular posting period, proceed as follows:

1. Add the posting period authorization (authorization object F_BKPF_BUP) to the authorizations of the selected users. Assign an authorization group (e.g. '0001').

2. Enter the account type '+' for the posting period variant to which the restriction is to apply. Enter the period(s) whose use is to be restricted in the first period, those which are available to all users in the second period, and the authorization group (e.g. '0001') in the last column.

For this purpose you can also consult BASIS Team.

I want to close the period for the credit controllers so that they are unable to process invoices. The period must be open for other users till we close it finally.

Will your recommendation help for this scenario?

Thanks

Roy

You cannot post in a closed period. If you want to post, the period must be open in OB52. If you want to restrict a few users to post in closed period used the From/To per.1 and AuGr fields in OB52.

You can define up to 366 posting periods in the Special Purpose Ledger, not in classic ledger.
