copy existing configuration to a new company code

Hi,

We want to copy the existing company code/ controlling area setup to a new company code/ controlling area, with the same chart of accounts, different P/L statement.

Is it possible to carry on this settings. Please advice.

Hi Priyajit,

This is a very common scenario. When you copy the company code settings and Chart of accounts to a new company code all the configuration for that comapny code gets assigned to the new. The chart of accounts is also copied with same G/L accounts with global settings. But you need to define the comapny code specific settings in FS00.

Similar is the case controlling area.

Whenever you copy the configuration for an oragnisation structure all configurations related at that level or above that are copied with it. But the lower level configuration you have to do seperately

Could you please explain how to copy settings for controlling configuration.

We need to map -->

1. same enterprise structure for new company code

2. different p&l statement

3. different income statement

4. COA -> mapping almost same .. -- this is possible..

Hi,

Is it in the same client or different client?

If in the same client, create a copy company code by copying the existing one.

If its a different one, and you want to copy only the company code, use transport req..

If its different one and you want to copy company code and all the settings you have made, create a client copy.
