When do we directly enhance a BC object ,When do we copy and then enhance ?

Hi Friends,

In the Implementation of BI 7.0, I have some doubts

1)When do we directly enhance a Business content Object after activating it and

When do we take a copy of that object and enhance ?

2)I came to know that for Data Source, Info sources directly we will do the enhancements on the objects with out taking a copy.Is it true?

3) Since SAP is not giving the BI 7.0 content for all the objects as in 3.5 ,and as it is releasing patches,what is the latest patch level to get the updated BI content Objects?

Would u Please clarify in this

Hi,

that's complete up to you. I've already worked for customers using and enhancing the bct objects (basically this is what they are made for) as well as for customers that are only working with a copy of the bct objects. If you want to save time during development and maintenance as well use the standard bct objects. Upgrading to a new version isn't a issue at all because with a new release only the 'delivered' version of a object will be updated not your own active version. If you want to use the additional things, you can goto the bct again, select the object and activate it from content again by using the option 'keep my enhancements'.
