Last week I shared details on "Imagine IoT," the latest openSAP course starting Wednesday, September 28. It's free and open to anyone interested in learning about the Internet of Things (IoT). The course will run over three weeks followed by a few more weeks where you'll go hands-on creating your own IoT prototype.

The first week is all about getting to know IoT with lots of use case examples and walkthroughs to show you how it works and what is possible. The second week is more focused on how SAP is involved and goes deeper into what products are available, including free tools and resources for you to get started. This leads to week 3, which is where you will learn about Design Thinking, user experience, and prototyping IoT.

In the end, you'll walk away not only with a better understanding of the Internet of Things, but also will have put together your first IoT prototype as a good starting point for what you might want to do next.

One aspect of this course that is perhaps a bit unique as compared to other courses: we have tons of guest lecturers involved who each provide a different perspective on how to make IoT work best. We wanted the course to be reflective of the reality that IoT is a team sport, so to speak. No one company (neither SAP nor others) has all the answers, and the more we collaborate, the more we can accomplish together.

So that's why you'll hear from Intel, Deloitte, XMPro, and others as part of the course. Each of these companies will share their expertise as part of this story we like to call the Internet of Things. And together, a more holistic picture will emerge of what to consider and how best to approach IoT. You can check out more details about these guest experts on the Imagine IoT course landing page, but I've included a little info here as well for you to get to know them.

Happy learning and prototyping, hope to see you in the course!
