Hi,

I am applying basis and abap patches for 4.7EE, and m stuck while applying basis patch SAPKB62021 in the phase

Error in phase : XPRA_EXECUTION

Reason for error : TP_STEP_FAILURE.

Return code 0008

Error message : OCS Package SAPKB62021, tp step R, return code 0008

I have checked my tp, its working fine. And before applying the patch in a standard scenario i have tested the patch running in test scenario its successfully completed.

I have also looked into in the relevent note(782140) but fail to get a solution for this.

I also made a kernal upgrade 6.20 - 6.40,

Can anybody please help me in this regard.

I'll appreciate the quick response to this message.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for ur immediate help.

I looked into the logs,n following are the errors

1)SQL error 229:EXECUTE permission denied on object 'sp_add_job'

2)During the upgrade, import post-processing MSS_SDBP_AFTER_IMP was performed for object SDBP L.

Errors were reported.

3)During the upgrade or import of a transport request, errors occured in the component

BC-DB-MSS (Microsoft SQL Server)

4)Ended with return code: 8

when i diagnosed this the 8 is the transport carried out with errors.it says that individual objects could not be transported successfully.

what is the next step i have to do??

Regards,

Mudassir.

Are you maybe running into the problem described in Note "598767 - DB13 - SQL error 229 when creating new jobs"? I know, it´s not DB13 causing this but the symptoms looks the same.

The XPRA problem is also described in note "669236 - Enhancements to upgrade to WEB AS 6.40 with MS SQL Server" which says to use the first note I gave you to solve the problem.

Hi,

We got a very similar error ,except our error msg says "incorrect syntax near '.'"

Just a dot.

Have you been able to fix the error on your system? Can you let us know how you fixed it?

Please check the import logs:

in transaction SPAM

Goto - Import Logs - Queue

Then drill up the red phase and press on the log sign.
