service '?' unknown

Hi,

we are migrating from EP620 to EP640 and having trouble to get the MSS running. We transported the system-landscape-settings to the new portal, but now we get an error when displaying the mss-iViews:

Can anyone tell me, where to configure the service which is obviously unknown?

Hi

Attempt to open connection to gateway failed. Check the host name and service. If these are correct, check whether the gateway is actually running and is listening to the correct port. Your own host name(s) and the ports the gateway listen to are in the first lines of the trace file (dev_rd).

Hi Krishna,

yes, the problem was, that I did not specify the service in the "services" file of the machine the portal was running on. There are a lot of positngs in this forum explaining this matter, for example here:
