When working with Crystal Reports I frequently get an application error which cause the application to terminate. The error occurs when the application has been idle for some minutes and I have navigated to another application window (email, web browser, excel spread sheet - it varies).
This happens on many different kinds of reports and different kinds of report connections. The problem seems to be associated with the idle condition. If I leave the application up and running it will abend. The time varies, but seems to take about 15-20 minutes.
The product is CR Professional Full. Version 11.0.0.1282
The error message is
--- begin ---
The instruction at "0x035c008d7" referenced memory at "0x34b9ff9". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate
Click CANCEL to debug
--- end ---
The debugger points to a module named EMSMDB32.DLL
Any suggestions?
Hi John,
Are you using dual monitor?
Try to apply latest service pack for crystal reports can be downloaded from :
[https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]
Try with this:
1. Reduce the 'Hardware acceleration' setting in Microsoft Windows.
2. To access the 'Hardware acceleration' setting in Microsoft Windows:
Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Display > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshooting.
There are typically six possible settings for 'Hardware acceleration': from 'None' to 'Full'.
Regards,
Shweta
