Hi Naveen,
Product hierarchy
Alphanumeric character string for grouping together materials by combining different characteristics. It is used for analyses and price determination.
Use
The product hierarchy on the Basic Data screen is used to depict the competitive materials of competitor 1 in relation to those of competitor 2. Here, your own company and its materials are also regarded as a competitor and as competitive materials respectively. You can use this representation as a basis for market analyses.
In APO, we can use this field to group items or products which in turn can help business in forecasting at a higher level, sales analysis at a hierarchial level, Characteristics based planning etc.,
Hope this answers your query. Please confirm.
Regards

Basically, a product hierarchy maps the hierarchical relationships between products. It can consist of individual subproducts, which, in turn, can consist of subproducts. A product hierarchy enables you to construct complex products.
Products can have a hierarchical relationship (for example. food u2013 frozen food u2013 pizza).
You group products to save time and money when processing them. Product-relevant hierarchies are based on hierarchies that you have defined in the Implementation Guide (IMG).
