Licensing of ECC users and ESS users

Hi Everyone,

We have ECC 6.0 and implemented Employee Self Service (ESS) on EP. Currently we have a license aggremennt of 75 users in ECC and 150 users in EP for ESS with SAP.

The users in ECC are not exceeding the limit defined by the license agreement. However, to support 150 users in EP, we had incorporated 150 users in ECC as well. The total users now in ECC is 60(ECC)+150 (ESS), that is, 210.

My question is are we compliant with the license agreement since the initial users permitted were 75 only?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Regards.

Wolfgang.

This may through some light regarding the License:-

" ESS License and SAP R/3 License are different. So if you have e.g. 1000 ESS license and 500 SAP r/3 license, so in total you can have 1500 ESS users in an organisation as the 500 SAP r/3 license will work as ESS users by default. So users from departments like Lisioning, Legal and Admin, to whom you don't want to give access to SAP R/3, you can assign ESS or MSS role accordingly through which they can access ESS MSS services without access to R/3."

Yes you need to have the licensing for each Portal or ECC user.

Hi

we are also using same scenario.. The ESS user ID does not count as ECC user ID. So there is no need to consider the ESS user IDs for the licensing of ECC.
