Tell me about definition of ERP and SAP. i am confused about definition of ERP and SAP through google and other website. i could not understand clearly.

please tell me clearly definition of ERP and definition of SAP!!

ERP is an Enterprise Resource Planning which is meant for planning resources in an organization where as SAP is a tool to achive it.

SAP was founded in 1972 in Walldorf, Germany. It stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing. Over the years, it has grown and evolved to become the world premier provider of client/server business solutions for which it is so well known today. The SAP R/3 enterprise application suite for open client/server systems has established a new standards for providing business information management solutions.

SAP product are consider excellent but not perfect. The main problems with software product is that it can never be perfect.

The main advantage of using SAP as your company ERP system is that SAP have a very high level of integration among its individual applications which guarantee consistency of data throughout the system and the company itself.

where as once SAP has been implemented it includes different modules like FICO, BW, Basis Etc

ERP is a generic word which is the product type. SAP is the original product name of SAP.

SAP is the product name which is developed by SAP AG. and which is an ERP package.

Different types of ERP products are there in market. SAP is one of them.

• ERP is the abbreviation of Enterprise Resource Planning, it's a standard procedure or program to optimze all processes (Sales, Logistics, Production, Quality, Finance) of enterprise management;

• SAP is a name of software product, it's a company name too. SAP system is good and wise system which is developed base on ERP concept!
