Hi All,
OS Win 2003 - 32 Bit, Database - Oracle 10.2.0.2 , I am facing this from yesterday, suddenly SAP was done and when i am checking the logs it is not able to connect to the database.
I have checked the services for oracle - service was down, i have started the oracleService<SID> and also i have restarted the listener.. after this when i am trying to start the SAP through MMC again the problem is face.. and also the oracle service is stopped. when i tried starting the database from OS level it was giving me error like
ORA-24324: service handle not initialized
ORA-24323: value not allowed
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
again the Oracle service is stopped i am not getting why the oracle service is stopping..

hello Mahesh,
do the following:
open the command prompt as <sid>adm
sqlplus / as sysdba
shutdown immediate
startup
do you receive any errors?please let us know
If no then do R3trans -d
and tell us the error code

Hi Rohit,
Oracle is down.. and when itried to start the oracle from the os i am getting the following the error.
SQL> startup;
ORA-24324: service handle not initialized
ORA-24323: value not allowed
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
during the startup the oracleService is stopped .. after starting the oracleService again then i am getting the following the error..
SQL> startup;
ORA-24324: service handle not initialized
ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist
Listener service is running...
Any work around pls

Above oracle version is not supported. Try to upgrade to 10.2.0.2.0.

please first of all have a look to the alert log file ($ORACLE_HOME/saptrace/background/alert<SID>.log)Also check the Metalink note for some work arounds: 550859.1.
For metalink user credentilas use the SAP Note: 758563.

Hi
ERROR => CONNECT failed with sql error '12518'
Indicates problem with listener service check this link for that [http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/network.920/a96580/listener.htm]
Was there any activity done at database side ? was there any heavy load on the server at that time ?
