Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool

I am getting the following error when trying to connect to an external server from my PI 7.1 SP6 system:

Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.lib.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: FTPEx: User 88888888 cannot log in.

we are connceting to this server from a different PI system okay, but not from this PI server.

i have double checked the connection details, but no luck.

I have deactivated all the other connections to the server to see if that frees up a resource, but no luck.

I have looked at OSS note 821617 - FAQ for File Adapter, but no luck.

Hi,

check the logs in FTP to see if XI tried to use this 88888888 user to log in

if you will see some connection tries in FTP logs then maybe what you need to check are:

- empty spaces in the user name in ID channel

- empty spaces in the password in ID channel

Hi Michal

thank you for your response.

i have double checked to make sure there are no blank spaces in the ID User or Pass.

We do not have access to the server to check if it is being acessed.

I was hoping that as the Q environment could connect, then the U would as well!

how wrong was i! :o[

I have tried logging on to the FTP server using the same connection, but i am accessing over citrix and do not have authorisation to run from Command line, and when accessing over windows explorer, it rejects my log in....

Hi Barry,

>>>We do not have access to the server to check if it is being acessed.

as you probably know sometimes even the best answer will not help

if the procedures (of access) are how they are

I also experience it everyday unless I'm working with small clients
