runtime dlls for Crystal Reports XI developer

Former Member

Hello All

I have developed a database application that uses the runtime dll's for Crystal Reports XI. We have a registered copy of Crsytal Reports XI developer edition. In previous version of Crystal I could install the dlls using regedit32. The current release (XI) does not allow for this.

I am not sure how to create an install package that has the runtime dll's for Crystal. Is there any instructions or documentation on how this is accomplished. I currently have Visual Studio 2005 installed on my deployment system.

Do I have to use a .net version of the runtime dll's or is there a generic version?

What would that version be and where on this site would might I find it?

Thank you as this info would be most appreciated.

Joe

See if this wiki helps:

https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsforVisualStudio.NETRuntimeDistribution-Versions9.1to12.0

Also, the developer help has more info:

Hi Ludek

Thanks for the links. I had the first link. I accessed the link you sent regarding VS 2005 and most of the links for deploying have moved and are no longer available,. The instructions are great if the links were still available in business objects. Below is typical of what I have found regarding the Windows Installer. When trying to download the Windows Installer the site has moved and is no longer available. I have no idea where I could find the link.

Windows Installer Requirements

To work through the Deployment tutorials in this section, you must complete the Project Setup in Setting Up the Development Environment.

Check that the following requirements are met:

  • Visual Studio 2005 is installed. See Visual Studio Versions.

  • Web or Windows applications that use Crystal Reports.

Use the .msi Windows Installer file to install your project on the target machine:

  • The Windows Installer provides the Crystal Reports runtime and the merge modules that are required by a deployment project. See Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Installer.

Note The Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005 Windows Installer is also available for 64-bit machines.

The Windows Installer can be downloaded from http://www.businessobjects.com/products/dev_zone/net/2005.asp.

Not sure what's going on with those links (frustrating...). I'll look at it later and fix em up. In the meantime, you can also navigate to the downloads section:

https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm

Choose your product and version, then select "utilities" to get the list of runtime files and download from here. BTW., you can not use IE 8 for this...
