Hi,

Please do the below checks for SMTP configuration.

1.scot -domain name needs to be add.

2.makesure you have activated smtp services from SMICM tcode press ctrl+f1.

3.node should be active by selecting * for node in tocde scot.

4.makesure your user id should have email address in su01 tcode settings.

5.check the SMTP parameters are available in rz10 instance peofile.

6.Realease the mails from sost tocde.

Hi,

Please check you have assigned the domain name in the SCOT SETTING. This should help you to resolve the problem. Setting will be available in Scot -> Settings-> Default domain

Hi Arun,

Did you say you were using email on Google Apps, and are integrating this with SAP? SAP CRM? I'd like to connect with you if this is the case. Thank you very much.

Take care,

Kim

Hi Arun,

Look like you did not configured the SMTP correctly. To configure the SMTP follow the below SAP Note 455140 - Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP.Also check Note 552616 - FAQ: SAPoffice - Sending to external recipients

Note 402907 - SAPconnect: Sending via ESMTP terminates with a dump

Note 751332 - Error sending mails with several recipients

Hi ,

This problem is from SMTP Server , Contact to SMTP engineer and show this error

He/she will easly understand

check out note 629966, and also note 1098108--

RFC 2487: SMTP Service Extension for Secure SMTP over TLS

ESMTP plugin does not support the Enhancement.

The affected versions are from 61 to 62,

So patch upgrade may be the best solution.

Thanks..

hi mohit,

This problem is from SMTP Server , Contact to SMTP engineer and show this error
He/she will easly understand

i said the error to smtp provider, he replied that no error in the connection.and asking me to change the configuration.

ok any ways for gmail also the same error i get when tring to mail.

ans also tried wiith hotmail , getting the same error.

The affected versions are from 61 to 62,
So patch upgrade may be the best solution.

current kernel patch is 159 and sap- basis is 700 level 18.

i think patch upgrade is not needed.

Hi ,

Here its nothing to do with SAP application configuration part.It seems to be core issue of SMTP coding.Found couple of notes for this issue .May be this can help or guide ::

perhaps a simpler approach.

Tools>Account Settings>Outgoing Server (SMTP)>smtp.gmail.com>Edit>TLS if available

In most of the incidences that I have come across or been asked about this will correct the error.

had that problem, the matter was about my antivirus, it blocks my output. I configured it and it works.
(Try turn antivirus off for simple test).

Here something to do with coding .SMTP guys need to add these lines in there code ::

mail.smtp.starttls.enable=true

mail.smtp.starttls.required=true

Please check with them.

Thanks..

and also you specified about coding , where to code actually , i mean parameters or any program to be generated....

kindly specify clearly so that i can work on it...

Hi ,

These settings are nothing to do with SAP application .

These need to be checked at your SMTP or exchecnge server as many google links points towards it.

Thanks..

SMTP Server should be located inside the companies domain. SAP connects to the SMTP server using a relay agent so no authentication is required. Now, If your SMTP server is not located in the same domain as your company then authentication is required and so far (As far as I read, and I did a lot) SAP does not seem to support smtp authentication via SCOT.

The only case i found some sort of support for SMTP servers with authentication is on Note 1328708 - Supporting e-mail notification service witch is related to SAP BPC

Hope that helps

juan,

is there any other way to config mail service, or the error can be solved by SMTP provider(google).

if i post the error to smtp provider , will it be understandable or any configuration method from our side to ask them to configure...

i.e to authenticate in the SMTP server.

conclude , so i have to take this issue to management to close.

any idea...

Arun.

is there any other way to config mail service, or the error can be solved by SMTP provider(google).

not as far as I know, SMTP provider can't do anything for you as they provide a well defined service. I will probably open an OSS message and ask SAP whats the situation with this.

so i have to take this issue to management to close

You'll need to check if theres any SMTP servers installed in within your company domain that you can put your hands on. I will wait for SAP confirmation via OSS (if I'm right).
