Compatible browser

Hi all,

My portal version is 7.0 SP3 and I am using Windows7. I want to know which browser can I use? IE8 is not compatible with portal and I can't uninstall it and change to IE7. I tried google Chrome, Opera and firefox. Opera is totally uncompatible, Chrome seems OK, but some function doesn't work, for example, the search helps. Firefox is the best but it is not perfect either. So is there any browser is well compatible with Portal besides the IEs?

Hi

Try http://service.sap.com/pam to get the recent availability matrix

(you will need s-user to login)

and look for sap netweaver 7.0

There is a ppt file with all the available browsers and portal versions

I think that only from sp20 you can use chrome, firefox and ie8

Note that If you are a portal administrator you can use only ie.

that's because of some specail java-script functionality that administrators need working in the portal

Hi Lupin,

At the moment only IE and Firefox are supported. Following are the details

If you OS is XP or Vista then you can upgrade to SAP NW 7.0 SPS 15 for all UI technology to be supported in IE7. However, if you are using IE8 with XP, Vista as the OS, then you need to upgrade to SPS20.

With Mozilla Firefox 3.0, if your OS is XP, Vista, Linux or MacOS, please upgrade to SPS19 to have the UI displayed, with constraint for Portal Administrators, NWBC, Real time collaboration and Visual Composer.

You can find this matrix in a ppt at the following path on SMP

Release & upgrade info --> Product Availability Matrix --> Quick Navigation to --> Browser information for:SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (page 7) and SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 (page 9)

Hope it helps.

Hi,

We are currently using NW 7.0 SP20. Its working fine in IE7 ,IE8 and Mozilla.

There is some work around in IE8. Chk this. [;

You can think of an upgradation to SPS20.
