Ftp connection error: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 520

Hi ,

I have a scenario where i am trying to pick a file from an ftp location. I have set my laptop as ftp server and trying to pick the file from PI server. While trying to poll i am getting the following error in the communication channel:

An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server '<host>:<>port>'. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 520 Control connection prematurely closed by server'. For details, contact your FTP server vendor.

(PS: I have removed the hostname and port number in this message. The adaptor has all the correct parameters.)

Please let me know if anyone has faced the same problem and is aware of the resolution. Need help.

Thanks ,

Anumeha.

Hi,

What is the Connection mode set in the File adapters....

If it is set to Permanent and change it Per File Transfer and check the same

May be check any firewall connections blocking the transfer...??

Also try the mode as active instead of the passive...

Hi, can u explain what was the solution to this?´

I am experiencing the same issue here.

Trying to do FTPS with standard Control Connection port 990. Firewalls open according to network team.

But getting:

'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 520 Control connection prematurely closed by server'

Used hostname in file sender channel.

Mapped hostname to IP in /etc/hosts.

Loaded ftp servers certificate into TrustedCAs view in NWA of PI.

Using FTP passive mode.

Using "per file transfer" connection.

Thanks for any help,

Matthias

Hi Matthias,

You must use port 21 not 990. Please check below note for reference.

1554886 - Implicit FTPS is not supported by the PI FTP Adapter
