"Cannot retrieve list of values for the prompt" inserting cascading LOV

Symptom:

In CR designer, when trying to insert a cascading List of Values (LOV) through the query panel for a Crystal report based on a universe, the following error message appears:

"Error", "Failed to set value for List of Values",

"Cannot retrieve list of values for the prompt". Please refer to screenshot LOV_failed.png (https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/servlet/JiveServlet/download/21241-50370/LOV%20failed.png)

This cascading prompt works correctly in Universe and WebIntelligence.

Enrionment:

BOE XI 3.1 SP2

CR 2008 SP2

Data connecton type: Universe

Data source: SAP BW

Is there any limitation of CR for this kind of using?

Hi,

OLAP Universes are not supported for Crystal Reports. You should use the BW MDX connectivity with the toolbar.

With your guide I downloaded the document "BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions Installation and Administration Guide"

from https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000843912009E/xi31_sp2_bip_sap_install.pdf

But I'm sorry that I do not find the support information about "OLAP Universes are not supported for Crystal Reports".

Can you tell me which part/page/line has this information?
