All,
I've a scenario where i've built a new system(upgraded) from existing system's database. Now i want to confirm whether i need to any pre-cautions to preserve import history of the Source system in the newly built system.
I know that import buffer can be preserved by copying buffer file from usr/sap/trans to newly built system. How about import history? i beleive import history is stored in database tables (E070,etc) ??
Can any one confirm this please? Basically my requirement, i want to preserve import history even after the database copy into newly built system.
Thanks
Hello,
Import history is stored in DB tables TPALOG and TPALOGHDR.
These tables are filled based on the data that is stored in the ALOG* files of your transport dirs.
This means that you can rebuild the data in these tables.
Just truncate table TPALOGHDR containing the status and header and refresh your import history via STMS.
Extra info in SAP Notes :
Note 808070 - Missing transport requests in import history
Note 375230 - TMS: incomplete import history
QA of your transports however is something that needs to be exported, especially when you refresh your QA system.
This can be done via following SAP Note :
Note 397138 - TMS QA and system copies
