Defect recording without creating notification

Hi Gurus,

I want to do defect recording without creating notification. In customizing i have removed default notification type from inspection type. But i want to maintain defects system gives error message No quality notification type has been defined for inspection type .

Any alternative available.

Dear Amith

As defect recording data gets stored in Notification table QMSM , without trigerring a notification you cannot record defect

Anyway the notification gets created and closed as you give UD for the inspection lot

In addition to that in in QCC0>quality planning>basic data>catalog>define defect class -->select the defect class here have you maintained "active Notification"

Click on no fuction.
