Hi,

Opening periods are setup in scheduling margin key.

Customize the same by following the path:

spro > Production > MRP > Planning > Scheduling and Capacity Parameters > Define Floats (Scheduling Margin Key)

Then assign the same in material master in MRP-2 view.

YS,

It is the first column in the config given by Vivek. It is abbreviated "Op.Pd". Are you having a problem finding this config?

Or, are you saying that you are not clear about how SAP treats opening period?

Dear,

The opening period is the time required by the MRP controller to convert the planned orders into purchase requisitions.

It is defined in scheduling margin key of material master which is maintained in 'MRP2' view.

For the MRP Run with "Create Purchase Requisition in opening period ", which means that the MRP creates preq at the time calculated as follows: Requested date - planned delivery time = opening period. Untill this moment MRP keeps them as planned orders.

Hope clear to you.
