Crystal Reports 2008 FP 2.7 - Errors 2908 and 1935 on Install.

Has anyone run into errors while installing FP 2.7?

I installed FP 2.6 without issue, but now I can't install FP 2.7.

I first receive "Error 2908. Could not register component {FA04305E-4299-475F-A0C0-45D575D42237}."

I click "Retry" (options are Abort, Retry, Ignore).

I then receive "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {FA04305E-4299-475F-A0C0-45D575D42237}. HRESULT: 0x8002802F."

I then receive "Installation ended prematurely because of an error." and the install is rolled back.

Crystal Reports 2008, Windows XP Professional.

I just installed FP 2.7 and didn't have any issues. I am running windows 7.

I'm sure one of these two things fixed it, and I was able to install.

1) Ran dotnetfx35setup.exe a couple of days ago.

2) Did a repair on FixPack 2.6.

I was then able to install 2.7 without issue, but I'm not sure which of these fixed it!

I've just updated my CR 2008 install on an XP box with no issues. I had FP 2.6 previously. If Don's suggestion does not pan out; what version of CR 2008 are you on currently (Help |About)?

Also, Are you installing as a local admin?

Hello,

Those error numbers are returned by MSIExec.exe, Microsoft's installer. I did a Google search for that number and it appears to be an issue with the framework installs.

Search also and see if their solutions resolve the issue.
