G/L account 50100010 is a balance sheet account??

Dear Members,

I am trying to create a statistical cost element for Inventory (balance sheet account) GL account.

System is throwing the following error. somebody please look into it.

G/L account 50100010 is a balance sheet account

Message no. KS036

Diagnosis

G/L account 50100010 is defined in FI as a balance sheet account.

System Response

Balance sheet accounts cannot be created as cost elements in cost accounting, except for:

Asset reconciliation accounts

Material stock accounts for valuated sales order stock for sales orders or projects.

Some times its allowing i dont know how it is happening.

Hi,

You can create a statistical cost element for a balance sheet GL account provided it is a asset account or a inventory account.

These statistical cost elements are created with cost element category 90.

The system allows a inventory account to be created as a statistical cost element when this cost element is configured in OBYC in BSX transaction.

Please maintain the GL code in OBYC - BSX and then try creating statistical cost element it should work.

Hi Sashi,

we can create the statistical cost element for balance sheet items, but only for Asset reconciliation and Inventory Account for Sales order costing GL Accounts only, Check the GL Account has been using for Sales Order costing or not....

If wrong correct me..
