error.10054,10061 ,Operating system call getservbyname failed

hi

i am using wndows 2008 enterprise with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 windows is working fine sap is also working fine ,

but the problem is when i start SAP solution manager it takes tooo much time during that

when i check windows event viewer it shows 4 error message first two are

"Operating system call getservbyname failed (error no. 0 ) "

other are "Operating system call recv failed error. no 10054"

and "Operating system call connect failed (error no. 10061)"

after these error SOLMAN starts but after toooo much time .

give me solution

Hello grewal77,

these errors are typically related to connection problems with the gateway (or another server) - you'll likely find them in dev_disp/dev_ms/dev_rd as well.

I would suggest you to perform a full network analysis following note #500235 involving your gateway and this server in question where you reported the error messages. Also please make sure your kernel is updated to the last patch level available and the MS DLLs follow this update.

Lastly, you can monitor your system using the msprot test program - please check note #636938 for this, as I believe this is an intermittent problem that happens from time to time and not every hour, every day.

Hi,

Please check if all systems host entries are configured in

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts

If DNS server IP Address is configured in your SAP server, make sure that host entry for your SAP server is created properly in DNS server.

In short this problem is related to name resolution. So check "hosts" file or DNS name resolution.
