your SMTP server must allow e-mail relay from your Windows server.

Ask your SMTP server administrator to check that for you.

Ask your SMTP server administrator to check that for you.

so, contact your SMTP server admin as soon as possible and stop wasting our time!

Maybe you have to maintain your Email address first in your SAP Account

Hi experts,

We are also facing the same error after configuration the SMTP node in our DEV server and trying to send email to our exchange servers. We are receiving the following error..

-

SMTP Plugin raises error:

Could not connect to 10.x.x.x:25

Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)

-

and also getting error......

No delivery to <email id>, invalid recipient address

Message no. XS806

Diagnosis

The recipient address <email id> was invalid or initial.

-

and some time...this...error..if trying to send the address to our internet address (yahoo / gmail.com)

Cannot process message, no route from <user-name> to <internet-email-address>

-

I would appreciate, if any one can give us an enlighten on this issue to resolve. Although, we have already told our Email exchange administrator to do the needful. But they wanted to know, what kind of changes or configuration they should do on exchange server for SAP SMTP email working. We have exchange server 2010.

An early reply would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Check port and mail at SMTP node

The following test can help further clarify the problem:

1. Log on to the SAP Web Application Server at operating system level (Windows, UNIX, and so on).

2. On Windows, start a command prompt (input prompt).

3. Enter the following command:

telnet {mail-host} {mail-port}

whereby you replace {mail-host} and {mail-port} with the values that you entered at the SMTP node in transaction SCOT (without the parentheses). If you then receive a response starting with "220", the configuration is correct. If the system issues an error message, you must request the correct values from your mail administrator.

"No delivery to <email id>, invalid recipient address

Message no. XS806

Diagnosis

The recipient address <email id> was invalid or initial.

System Response

The action was terminated.

Additional information of the node used (in the system language of the node):

Specify a valid recipient of the object. The address '_<emailid>_' or address type '' you specified (no 'type' specification is equivalent to the SAP address) contains an error.

When you are composing the email in SBWP what are you specifying for the recipient type ? If it's an external mail address you must specify "Internet Address" and not "External Address".

Make sure the default domain you specified in SCOT actually exists in DNS and obviously also make sure the address you are sending to is correct. Also check the SMTP node in SCOT, have you specified the external SMTP host correctly ?

Hi,

In scot, what was mailing port, is it 25 and also did u mentioned the mail address type *@<company-domain>.com or simply *.

Check the mail status in SOST and log/reason for any cancelled mails there.

Your company mail server must be configured to allow your SAP host to relay mail.

Hi,

is any thing more is needed for mails configuration ???

You mentioned nothing of parameters, has this been done correctly ? Is the SMTP service active on your system and without error ? Check in SMICM -> Goto -> Trace File -> Display ALL - make sure there are no errors for SMTP specifically.

Also go through Note 455140 - "Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP" ..and check you have completed all necessary steps.
