Dear Experts,
Kindly help to answer my below queries:
1. What exactly happens in the system when Inialization of Planning Area is triggered?
2. When do we need to do De-Initialize of planning area.
Thanks a lot in advacne.

When you click on "initialize planning area" option time series gets created for the newly created characteristic value combinations. The key figure values are stored in the time series and order series live cache and initialization of the p.a is like allocating a spot in the live cache to store the key figure values.
Deinitialization of the planning area leads to loss of time series values. So you should not deinitialize the planning area unless there is a change in the structure of the planning area. For example if you want to add new key figures to a planning area then deinitialization and reinitialization of the planniing area is required.

Hello Aparna,
Thanks a lot for your answer. I still have one question, in case of SNP, we do not have newly created CVCs, then do we just need to to initialize the PA from each planning version once (for allocation of space in LC as you metnioned) ? or there can be other scenario when we need the again initailize the PA?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi
In case of SNP and if you are using APO version less 5.0 you require to de-initialize and Initialize the planning area in case , if you are adding a new Key figure to Planning area.
Thanks
