msg.KL008_Activity RD01 cannot be allocated to 2011

Dear Experts,

We use KB21N to collect RD hours that production dept. support for RD dept.

However, when we type the following:

sender CRT Activity type IO QTY

103001 RD01 600015 3 hrs

Activity RD01 cannot be allocated to 2011

Message no. KL008

Diagnosis

Activity type RD01 was planned in fiscal year 2011 as non-allocatable. This means that other objects cannot input any activity through this activity type.

System Response

No activity input can be posted.

Procedure

Choose a different activity type.

Are there any IMG needs to be set?

We don't set OKES, cause this not use for production order. We only need to collect QTY.

Hi

Whats your activity type category? It should be 1

Also, is your activity type master valid in 2011? Check in KL02 and extend if required

Hi Ajay M,

The activity type category if RD01 is 4.(Manual entry, no allocation)

Activity type category 1 (Manual entry, manual allocation)

Activity types of this category use plan activity quantities. The plan activity is allocated to the different receiver objects using activity input planning. It may be necessary to reconcile the activity quantities and the plan scheduled activity.

Actual activity quantities are entered for each business transaction using internal activity allocation.

We don't quite understand the above explanation, could you make an example?

If we choose 1, cost element field will be required, but we don't need to maintain activity type price.

Our requirement for RD01, only needs to collect qty (working hours), is there any impact other than our requirements if we choose Activity type category 1?

Thanks

Hi

I dont think you are heading in the right direction... Activity Types used in KB21N / routing should have Act Type Category 01

In your case, if you want to just capture the Qty w/o any cost implication, then use T code KB51N or use an SKF.. Dont use KB21N

Hi Ajay M,

Thanks a lot!

That's what we want to ask.

use an SKF=> Do you mean KB31N?

Is there any report can lists actual SKF post of lists IO?

Hi

KB51N should suffice you... You need not use SKF

Yes, SKF means Kb31N....

You can refer report S_ALR_87012993 - Orders: Actual/Plan/Variance

Have a look at the following notes:-

1) Note 148313 - Err KL001 for activ.type which cannot be allocated

2) Note 416372 - Tpl.allctn impossible w/ activity type that cannot be alloc.

thanks
