MOPZ - yellow warning does not allow to continue with generation of package

Former Member

Hello,

Using Solution Manager (SM) to generate package and stack configuration

file for upgrade.

XXH is an HR, 640, with dual stack due to XSS. In SM, converted the

product version from ECC to ERP 2004 using SMSY_SWITCH_PRODUCT, there is no inconsistency.

Edited to add product instances - Portal Content and Enterprise Portal to link to XKP (JAVA system with Adobe Document Services, Application Server Java and Enterprise Portal. It is now showing in SMSY with the following product instances.

- SA ECC Server

- Portal content, pointing to another JAVA system XKP

- SAP NW - Entreprise Portal - pointing to XKP also

- SAP XSS - pointing to XKP also

In MOPZ, selected XXH, 'Upgrade with EHP' --> EHP4 on NW701. It shows the following warning

Attention! Software Component Version ESA ECC-SE 501 is installed!

Attention! Software Component Version BI CONT 3.53 is installed!

Then selected several technical usages

- ESA ECC-SE

- SAP ECC Server VPack successor

- Central Applications

- HCM

- Portal Content

- Portal Content Self Services

- HCM Self Services

- Self Services

However after the calculation it sill show the yellow warning below and

does not allow to continue, even if I try other technical usages.

Attention! Software Component Version BI CONT 3.53 is installed!

Anything missing here?

Regards,

Terry

Hi,

You need to register your system as ERP 6.0 in SMSY not as ERP 2004. Please change it and then try again.

Thanks

Hi Sunny,

When registered as ERP 6.0, the only option is either 'Maintenance' or 'Enhancement Package Installation'. The latter gives several errors

ABAP queue check failed

The Installation/Upgrade Package for Add-on ST-PI rel. 2008_1_700 is not available

Component BP ESS (ERP 2004) 60.2 without suitable Product Instance

Component BP MSS (ERP 2004) 60.1 without suitable Product Instance

Component PI_BASIS 2005_1_640 without suitable Product Instance

Component ESA ECC-SE 501 without suitable Product Instance

Component SAP BASIS 6.40 without suitable Product Instance

Component SAP ABA 6.40 without suitable Product Instance

and more...

So still cannot go forward.

Hi,

It looks like you are upgrading from ERP 2004 to ERP EhP4. In that case please set the Product version of the system as ERP 2004 in SMSY. And as the warning shows BI_CONT 353 and ECC-SE 501 components are installed, please check if they are really installed on the system.

If yes, then select the respective technical usage types for the components in SMSY as well.

You need to register your system as ERP 6.0 only if you want to download support packages for EHP4. For downloading EHP packages, select option Enhancement Package Installation. There select your target stack and select all usage types, then you will get packages.

I will suggest you to read How to install EHP4 document on http://service.sap.com/erp-ehp.

Thanks

Hi Sunny,

Maybe I'm mistaken here But I do have a clarification. As mentioned an upgrade from ERP 2004 to ERP EhP4 is to be performed. The option you suggested "Enhancement Package Installation" should ideally work fine when the system is already at ECC 6.0 levels(without EhP) or if a system is already with EhP and a new technical usage is required.

Also in the MOPZ options, I remember seeing the option "Upgrade with EhP Installation" which might be more appropriate for the situation here as an upgrade needs to be performed. If EhP Installation is selected then only the installation packages would be downloaded, but actually required would be the upgrade packages.

Please suggest.

No, If you want to upgrade system to EHP4 level then you have to register it as ERP 6.0 system otherwise you will not enhancement packages and you will also not get enhancement package installation radio button and only maintenance button will be available. That is the reason, I requested to check How to install EHP4 document.

Thanks

Hello,

The document 'How to install EHP4' has the following

...' If you are combining the installation of SAP enhancement package 4 with an upgrade, you have to register the system according to the start release.'

Since it was ECC 5.0 and converted the product version (using SMSY_SWITCH_PRODUCT), it is 'SAP ERP 2004'.

The MOPZ log below, the first 4 lines are coming out as red

15:07:30 Attention! Software Component Version BI CONT 3.53 is installed!

15:07:30 Please check the instructions under the logging tab.

14:56:36 Please check the instructions under the logging tab.

14:56:36 Attention! Software Component Version BI CONT 3.53 is installed!

14:36:53 Attention! Software Component Version BI CONT 3.53 is installed!

14:36:53 Attention! Software Component Version ESA ECC-SE 501 is installed!

14:36:53 Product version of system not suitable for Netweaver

14:36:53 Technical Usage SCM .

14:36:53 Technical Usage ESA ECC-SE .

14:36:53 Attention! Software Component Version BI CONT 3.53 is installed!

14:36:53 Attention! Software Component Version ESA ECC-SE 501 is installed!

14:36:53 Please check the instructions under the logging tab.

14:36:10 Component BI CONT 3.53 without suitable Product Instance <--

The last line could be causing the error, but has not found any way to resolve it in SMSY. Any idea?

Hi,

If this is a ECC System then how come you have BI_CONT in this???

You can also proceed by adding BI System as usage type in SMSY.
