Why this message will come and what is the impact?

Plants exist in which you have not specified a control key

Message no. M3831

Diagnosis

The QM procurement indicator is selected for the material. If this indicator is selected, you must also define at plant level a control key for QM in procurement. However, there are still plants in which you have not defined this key.

Procedure

Maintain the material in all of the plants, specifying a control key for QM in procurement in each case. We recommend you use the transaction Mass Maintenance of QM Procurement Keys in the Material Master.

Why this message will come and what is the impact?

Lets say you have plant 1000 & plant 2000.

for plant 1000 say you have clicked on QM procurement tick in QM view ( & you have entered control key here) & you have Quality Info Record in place.

Now there is plant 2000 for which either QM view does not exists or it exists but you do not have entered control key in this plant.

In such a situation this msg comes.

Now Impact is

"If you click on "QM procurement " in one plant its application to all the plants for which that material exists" so you need to enter the control key for other plant also(as QM procurement tick is present in MARA table& not MARC).If you do not wish to have that control then its advisable to enter "0000" control key in plant like 2000.

This is only a warning message, If you don't have to do anything in plants where you are not using Q Info records.
