Hi,
We have Java stack installed in AIX machine with DB2 database. In jcmon I can see the dispatcher, server nodes are running. But when i tried to launch http://<host-name>:<port>/index.html , it is showing "the page cannot be dispalyed".
The same error message for http://<host-name>:<port>/irj/portal
I restarted the instance by issuing stopsap and then startsap. But still the same issue. Is there any block in the network?
Can any one help me on where to start the diagnosis?
Thanks,
Dinesh.
Hi,
Paste the server0 log files.
you can check the cluster/server0/log .. defaulttrace files for furthur information about the error.
THanks,

Closing the thread. As said by SM, the load balancer was down.

Are you sure that you are using the right URL,
Port Names are assigned to a J2EE Dispatcher based on Instance number.
For Example J2EE INstance number is 01, the URL will be http://HOSTNAM:50100/index.html
For detailed port list:

Thanks for all your suggestions ppl.. I restarted the engine again this morning. Strange fact is I can access http://<host>:50100/index.html. But when I click on the netweaver administrator link it is again showing Page cannot be displayed.
This is really confusing because I haven't done any modifications . Only doing the restart.
Also the server0 log files are huge in size around 9MB. Do these logs contain only the recent one or it can store anything from the beginning.? Is it possible to have the latest one alone?
Thanks,
Dinesh.
First install http watch
http://www.httpwatch.com/download/
in your desktop/laptop,
after install close all your browsers, and open the httpwatch basic, now open a new IE Window and go to
the home page
http://HOST:50100/index.html --> click NETWEAVER ADMIN
HTTP Watch will record the calls and paste the calls here.
TO reset the logs Visual Admin -> Log config-----> Reset to default.
Thanks
SM
Hi ,
Just now figured that there is a proxy mapping done in Visual admin. Below is the value in prxoy mapping for http service in dispatcher cluster.
50100=(Host:xx,Port:80,scheme:http,Override:true)
Now i tried to telnet the proxy server and below is the message .
->telnet xx 80
TRYING 192.168.96.70...
CONNECTED TO XX.
ESCAPE CHARACTER IS '^]'.
CONNECTION TO XX CLOSED BY FOREIGN HOST.
Is there is any problem with the port which we are communicating? I couldn't really understand this because, first it can connect to the host and immediately the connection has been closed.
Your suggestions are always welcome.
Thanks,
Dinesh.
Hi SM,
Thanks for your quick response.
Does it mean there is problem in the load balancer? Because, when i removed the proxy mapping value, i can navigate to any link, but having them is the issue.
As our test and production environments are configured in a similar manner, we are in situation to rectify in the same way.
Note: Test and production systems are working fine.
Thanks,
Dinesh

After removing the Proxy mappings if it is working then I work with the load balancer Team and see if they are using the right J2EE Dispatcher port. Check if the LB is configured to hit at Port 50100, some times they assume it is Port 80.
If you still want to continue without using the Proxy Mappings, then you are not using External Loadbalancer's functionality.
Thanks
SM
Additional to that always use the FQDN when working with Java

Hello Dinesh
Are you on same network where application is hosted? or do you have any firewall in between application server and your system?
If there is any firewall then you need to work with network team to open the ports.

Vivek
