NWDS Installation

Dear All,

I want to install NWDS on my system.

To do so, i have downloaded "JIDE24_0-10003480.SAR" file from SAP Marketplace.

Could you please help me by telling me from where do I download sapcar.exe file to uncar the .sar file.

I would really appreciate if you could please tell me the version for the same.

To install NWDS do I need to install Java SDK??

If yes which version of Java SDK should i download that is compatible with the above mentioned SAR file.

One more information: I am using a windows XP system.

I have downloaded SAPCAR_0-10003696.exe file but when I try to uncar my SAR file I get a pop up saying "SAPCAR.exe file is not a valid Win32 application".

Please help.

Disha,

You need JDK for sure. If you're using it for 7.0 developments, JDK 1.4 should be fine to be precise, 1.4_12 is the most stable one.

To UNCAR the file, you've to use command prompt.

Copy the sapcar.exe to the directory where u stored ur .car file

and at the command prompt use sapcar -xvf filename

It would be a great help if you could give me the names and versions of the NWDS SAR file and SAPCAR.exe file that you have used and installed on your system (Windows XP).

Got these off my download basket - I used these:

SAPCAR_2-10009100.EXE

JIDE18_0-10003480.SAR

Is it necessary to use a SAPCAR.exe file that is compatible with your SAR file, or any SAPCAR.exe file for Windows XP would work fine.

are you sure you are executing the command from the directory where sapcar.exe is available? I have installed this and worked great.
