Hello
After migrating a sapdb instance (7.3 system) to maxdb 7.6 I have problems with the superdba and the control user.s The password that I think they should be the right do not work.
Now I'm looking for the possibility to reset the password of superdba and/or control user.
Please do not send me the notes
25591 - Changing the DBM, SYSDBA and DBA user passwords
and
39439 - XUSER entries for SAP DB and MaxDB
as done in many other SDN threads. This doesn't work for me because you can change the password only if you know the actual password (standarlogins superdba/admin and control/control do not work btw).
Does anyone know how to reset those passwords?
Thanks and regards
Marco
Hi,
try to reset it via database studio. Go to configuration and select "database user". Logon as "control" and change the superdba password.

hello,
1.
Please Read : http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/default.htm -> "MaxDB Security Guide"
If you forgot both passwords of SYSDBA and DBM users =>
you could not connect to the database, so you cold not reset the passwords using dbmcli tool.
Please read the document "Users, Authentication and Authorizations" at
http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/fa/d82c4067d3e901e10000000a155106/content.htm
2.
"After migrating a sapdb instance (7.3 system) to maxdb 7.6"
So when you run the migration you knew the passwords of the database users.
3.
If you are SAP customer => create the SAP message, we need to login to the database server & see if we could connect with all combinations of the user/passwords you know after checking the users names saved in bynary files.
