SPP 4.10 - Installation Error 1606

Hi Everyone,

i hope you can help me.

We are trying to install The SPP 4.10 by Ancile on a Windows 2008 Server. During the Installation we are getting the following error:

Error 1606. Could not access network location

%SystemDrive%/inetpub\wwwroot\.

The user is in the AdminGroup. So he has all the access.

I really don't know how to solve the problem.

I hope you can help us.

SPP 4.10 does not support windows server 2008.

try with 4.30 pls.

Ok thanks, That was the problem. We had to use SPP 4.30.

Hi Daniel,

Try suggestion from Rajesh as this is first option.

If this doesn't help

We encountered this error when we install Microsoft program before.

Please try following and let us know the result.

Go to this site: (click the link)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549

then Click the "fix me" icon.It's better than

fixing the error manually.

Restart your computer then install again the program.

If issue still there please try to reinstall the "IIS SERVICE" to see it

again.

not the exact solution but just a workaround

1) Type "regedit" in the Run From Start Menu dialog box to open the "Registry Editor".

2) Find the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InetStp\PathWWWRoot

3) Change the value of this registry key from "%SystemDrive%\inetpub\wwwroot" or " \inetpub\wwwroot\" to "C:\inetpub\wwwroot". If your default website in IIS is instead stored in a different location, set the value of this registry key to that path instead.

NOTE: Please take a backup copy of regedit before doing any changes.
