VMC error while activation

Dear Experts,

In Tx SM52 the vmc is not active giving error below:

Last Error Text Error occurred during program execution

Time 15:55:26

User SAPSYS

WP 6

Virtual Machine 0

VM Error Teyt error in com.sap.vmc.bootstrap.Bootstrap.main

Program com.sap.vmc.bootstrap.Bootstrap

i tried to add the parameters vmcj/enable=on to activate it but with it didn't help, also i found a dump error in TX ST22: RFC_VMC_COMMUNICATION_ERROR

the point is i am working on CRM 7.1 ABAP only, the JAVA stack is not installed.

also i am facing this error on both QAS and PRD servers while IDES and DEV are working fine!!

my OS is Linux RedHat-5

Hi,

This may have been caused by a faulty installation procedure when the

current 7.20 kernel was installed over the previous (7.0x or 7.1x)

kernel.

A quick way for you to fix the problem is to manually delete/backup the

subdirectories <DIR_EXECUTABLE>/cfw and

<DIR_EXECUTABLE>/jkit and then reinstall the 7.20 kernel again. This way

you make sure that all Java parts of the previous kernel installation

are removed before the new kernel is installed.

Please note, however, that the kernel installation may be set up in a

way that the kernel files are copied from a central server. In this case

you would have to delete the /cfw and /jkit subdirectories there, too,

in order to prevent copying the old stuff again.
