It is certainly possible to exchange the storage where the files are stored.

with SARA, button storage system, you can retrieve the files from the old storage , then you change the customizing for the repository and using the same button in SARA you can store the archives in the new storage system.

if there is a quicker way I cant tell you, maybe others

SARA is not a windows explorer, where you just browse to find a file which you want open.

If you have already archived and stored the files in filenet, then the link to this location is stored in the administration data for a certain archive run. table ADMI_FILES

if you move the files to somewhere else, then the information in the administration data does not change by itself.

So you might still have your compressed archives in a new secure place, but you are not able to open it with SAP archive explorer as its information is still looking into the filenet instead into the new place.

Thank you,

Please suggest how to update that table as per the new archive location , is there any way to do that so that system will point to new location .

Any coversion program or autogeneration program .

Hello,

I have done this process when we moved our archived data from IBM Commonstore to IXOS/OpenText as well as when we moved all of our archived images in OpenText that were stored in a jukebox and we moved them to a WORM/Hard Disk Storage (still Open Text). But, in both cases, we were provided the necessary conversion programs from the relevant vendor (in this case Open Text).

This process is complex and involves correctly updating mulitple internal SAP tables as well as the database entries in the new storage providor.

My recommendation is to work with the 3rd party solution partner where the data is going to be moved to and get the appropriate conversion programs from them.

We are looking at Opentext & IBM Filenet.  Why did you move off of Filenet to Opentext?

thanks in advance
