Connection Server Failed in SAP BI 4.0

HI

We have installed SAP BI4.0 on Linux server.

Able to login to CMC but connection server and and web intelligence servers are failed . We tried to start the server but unable to start the server .

We have restarted all the servers still connection server and and web intelligence servers are failed

Please advise

What patch level?

Try to use Force Terminate in CMC and then Start.

Please locate the boconfig.cfg file e.g. /home/bi4/BI4/setup/boconfig.cfg

If the file has only a few entries it is most definitely corrupted. Check if the boconfig.cfg_old has more lines, if yes make it boconfig.cfg

If that still fails:

- Restore the boconfig.cfg from a backup

- Copy the boconfig.cfg file from a working BI4 system

Then restart BI4

Hi Roland, We have verified this file and the file has only one entry.

We have verified the same file other server where there all servers are up and it has many entries.

Our question is if we replace the corrupted file with the file from other server the entries are specfic to the server, so iis it dynamicaaly change entries?

I should have been more precise, please copy the file from the working server and then amend it to reflect the paths and SIA of the server that you have copied the file too.

Hi Roland, Is this related to only WebI Processing server?

why i am asking is in my case both Connection and WebI Processing servers are failed.

Sp please confirm?

The Web Intelligence Server not starting is, I believe, a consequence of the Connection Server not starting. So the proposed solution will help you

The version of the Business Objects which I am using is BI 4.0 SP05 Patch 03.

What changes needs to be made on the windows machine so that we can create the connection server 64 bit because there is no prob in creating and running 32 bit connection server

Still encountering this issue on AIX OS with SAP BI BusObjects 4.0 SP02 Patch 14, if the  install directory is fulll (because of core dumps) for example. annoying.
