Yes, I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade any old report made with R1 to an older version like Crystal 2008 or 2011, or if it was not possible at least if it was possible to migrate them from R1 to R2 and if after that if it was possible to migrate to 2008 or 2011.
If only possible from R1 to R2, can I use the same R1 license key?
That doesn't make sense!!! R1 is version 11 and released 4+ years ago and CR 2008 is version 12 and CR 2011 is version 14 which was just released.
CR 9 to CR 2011 can open each each others reports and they can open CR 8.5 reports also. You just cannot save CR 8.5 reports as version 8.5 reports with CR 9 to 2011. Once the file has been saved there is no way CR 8.5 can open CR 9 to CR 2011 reports.
There will be limitations also, newer versions of the reports with new functionality will not fully work in older versions of the Designer.

How do I know if my XI R1 is for Visual Studio or not, does it affect if I migrate to XI R2A? or all those old versions of Crystal are for Visual Studio?
Depends on if you were using. Updating your app is simply updating the References and replacing the window form viewer if that's what you used. Then recompile and rebuild the distribution packages.
