I posted this the other day in the wrong forum - so please excuse me if you end up reading it twice
I have a web site that generate reports as pdf, word, excel, csv, or html. It has been running for years. I just moved to a new server running Windows 2008 and IIS 7(from 2003 and IIS 6). Everything still works fine, except that exporting to excel causes a crash which kills the web process. The rather unhelpful error message is copied below.
The only thing I can think of is that some driver is missing, but I don't know what it might be. I have examined my original web server and can't find any clues.
Can anyone tell me what I might be missing?
Using Crystal Reports for VS 2010.

I'm not aware of any issues like this.
Make sure you are on SP3:
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824
(Do not use SP 4 as you are using a web app and there are viewer issues with SP 4...)
Other than that, I'd recommend logging:

I am using SP4 (build 13.0.4.705)
I do not use the web viewer. All reports are generated using ExportToStream().
Process monitor generates a huge amount of info, even limited to the relevant process id. I don't really know what to look for. Many of the entries look like errors, but that seems to be true even when you monitor processes that are working properly.
For the viewer, all you need to do is make sure you're in the form design mode. Then go to the toolbar and find Crystal Reports Viewer. Throw it on the form and voila.
Can you do the same with a win app. I think we're looking at some sort of permissions issue.
Also, confirm that the CR assemblies referenced in your project are version 13.x?
- Ludek
I appreciate your help, Ludek.
The assemblies are all version 13.0.2000.0
When I tried exporting to disk, I used the same folder that I use for html formatted reports (which work fine), so at least I know it is not a permissions issue on a windows folder.
The viewer sounds easy - I should be able to try it this weekend. Also, a win app.
I don't think I mentioned this, but I have the same problem on my dev machine, which is windows 7, with visual studio installed. My previous macine was xp, and excel export was no problem.
Sorry guys, but I was not aware of this issue at all. Searching the database does not return any hits either.
Ido, do you still happen to have the forum post where this was reported?
Ray, I will test this today and submit it to R&D for a fix. Not sure if we'll be able to squeeze it into SP5, but let's wait and see what R&D says.

Found the prior thread about this at: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3210737
Hello Ido and Ray
Well, egg on my face and all that (especially since I worked on this with the original poster (Nick) ). The good news is that this issue is in the bug database after all; ADAPT01653219 and it is assigned to SP5. That's still no guarantee, but since it is a regression issue it does float to the top of the list.
With apologies,
- Ludek
