Hi,
recently got a question from a customer, if BEx Analyzer / Excel reporting should work together with MS Office 2013?
In quickly set up test environment (MS Office 2013 - 32bit version) it does not work actually.
An Excel process is started in the back ground (task manager) but not Excel window is come up.
I can also not find any information in the world wide web about BEx together with Office 2013. The highest office version comments are available for is 2010.
Question:
Thanks a lot
Michael

Dear Gopal,
Please refer to note 1652769, it states:
=======
Support to 64 bit versions
All the Operating Systems are supported for both 32 bit version as
well as 64 bit version. But this is not the case for Office versions
now.
Office 64 bit versions are NOT supported for BEx tools for the moment.
=======
Please use bex with office 2013 32 bit version instead.
Regards, Arvind
Hi Michael,
If you are having SAP GUI 720 look into note "1425805 - Hardware&Software requirement for BW 7.x Frontend in GUI 720".
MS Office 2013 is supported by Bex tools as of FEP 1000 which is released as of CW 09, 2013.
I assume as of GUI 73 it is supported as probably mentioned in the note 1085218 but note as it self if only internal for the time being.
Cheers, martin

Hello Michael,
Even if it's not supported, we tried it last week. At first, Analyzer wouldn't start from the Windows Menu or from RRMX. It finally started from the Portal with some questions about authorizing acces to some directories. We stopped the test there.
Our upgrade project to Win7 and Office 2013 will start in a few months. Hopefully, 2013 will be officially supported with newer OSS Notes and fresh BEX GUI patch.
I might look at it again in two weeks. I'll let you know.
Have fun.
UPDATE 2013-03-12
Look at note 1085218. It says that BEX gui 7.3 patch 300 will support Excel 2013. Available week 11 ... this week !!!

Hello, does any one know the compatabilty of BEx 3.5 and Office 13 and/or Windows 8? I have looked at this document Compatibility of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Products but it doesn't cover Office 2013 or Windows 8.
Thanks and regards in advance,
Stephen
