help for SBO Mailer using gmail

hi all,

need a help about SBO mailer using my gmail account, here is what i have configured.

Schedule Tab

by Intervals          : every 5 minutes (for testing purposes)

Settings Tab

Note: i am using my personal gmail account for testing

Mail Seetings

SMTP Server                         :smtp.gmail.com

SMTP Port                     :465

username                            :          my gmail acct

Password                            :          my gmail pwd

encoding                            :           English (United states)

SMTP Client                    :          Microsoft .NET

Authentication                    :          Basic Authentication

HTML Direction Right to Left               :          untick

Include subject in message Body        :       untick

Fax Settings

Send Error notification to users                  :          untick

send success notification to users          :          untick

send notification by internal mail                  :          untick

Connection:

DB Type: MSSQL_2008

DB Server: my test server

Database:

my local DB in test server is cheked

now, using the above configuration, i tried to manually send email directly from SBO, and it says "Operation ended successfully ", and in the attachment folder i can find the Document that i send (PO in this case), but when i check the other email that i send the test msg. it was not received.

please help me figure out what i am missing.

Try to set the port to 25

And check the Use TLS Encryption.

i have check the thread but it was application in SBO 2007. im using SBO 8.81 PL:04

any suggestion fellows?

Hi Avelino,

The setting works for me.

I think you have AntiVirus/Firewall blocking the port.

Did you try to telnet the smtp.gmail.com:25 ?

If you cannot telnet, means your problem does not lies with SBO mailer setting anymore.

hi Vamsi,

i have done the config you have presented. when i send a mail within SBO it says that Successfull but when i run the this query

select * from alr1

the status is "U"

and i check in SDK help what means this status "U", the SDK help said the "U" status is "Not Sent"

U - Not Sent

P - Process

S - Sent

Check if there is any firewall is enabled .

The same settings has been working fine for me.

that was a quick response. thanks.

i had checked my firewall of my PC where i am sending eMail, its actually turned off. another thing, actually my sbomailer setting not look the same with your screen shot. here is mine (SBO 8.81 PL:04)

maybe you are using higher version.(i never had a changer to to 8.82 & 9.0)
