A database error occurred. The database error

text is: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]

Statements(s) could not be prepared. (WIS 10901)

I am connecting to universe using rich client it is working fine.

But for the same Universe , If I use WEBI web Tool inside Internet Explorer , I am getting above error.

I am using SAP BO XI 3.1. I am using ODBC connection for the Universe.

Any info will helpful. Let me know for any solutions.

thank you all people... i did find partial solution by fully-qualified naming.... needs more info.

http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/1831/using-windows-groups-for-sql-server-logins-as-a-best-prac...

I am using windows AD login... if i use fully-qualified naming..like databasename1.dbo.table1

...

but this has become little tedious .... looking  forward far more thoughts...

Do you have the ODBC defined in BO server as well? If it is not, then you need to define with the same name as defined on your local machine. Otherwise, you will keep getting this error.

Hi

You need to create an ODBC system datasource with same name you created in your client system.

Step to create ODBC system datasource

- Go to path in server "C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64"

- Execute the exe called "odbcad32.exe"

- go to system DSN tab and create an datasource connecting to SQL Server.

I am using same 32 bit  ODBC datasource name as present on Server and inside my .unv file.

but the same error message continues...

Hi,

Things are getting confused:

Initially it was been said you are able to create the report using WEBI rich client(on your machine) and only the problom lies at server side when you are refreshing the WEBI in Infoview.

Now, there is problem in universe. It seems there is a problem in query. Check the object definition and the query you developed using that objects.

Rama

Check your connection security in CMC.

HI Lotus,

Create a 64 bit DNS on server as well, you might be having only 32 bit DNS on client machine.

make sure both DNS has same name.

Thanks,
Sapanesh

Hi Lotus,

Was this working before or you testing this for first time? Have you created a ODBC connection at the Server level too, after exporting the Universe to the repository?

If not, you will have the create a System DSN on the server, with the same name as locally defined connection

Also, remember not to have any blank spaces in the ODBC datasource name.

Re-export your universe with this new connection and let me know if it helped.

Thanks.
