Internal Order Type - Object Class Field Required

Former Member

The Object Class field on existing Internal Order Types has now become a required field to be populated.  This I believe is the result of a recent support pack upgrade.   This field was not populated in the past by now if I create a new order type or revise an existing order type this field needs to populated.

There are four options to select from 1) Overhead costs   2) Investment   3) Profit Analysis  4) Production  to populate the Object Class.field.

Does anyone have an experience with this field ?  or can the required be reset ?

We have not used the Object Class field or needed it for our internal orders prior to the field set as required.

We are not using the Asset module nor the .Profitability analysis.

Please go to the t-code KOT2_OPA

Under the head "Master data display", you have "Field selection" option.

Click on it and select the "Object class" as Optional / Required as per your requirement.

It displays in existing and new Internal orders going forward.

Hello Brian,

Please check the SAP note 367820  (INFO: KO01 Create Internal Order: Transfer default value).

There is a part that:

--------

Special fields:

...

o  The fields for object class and functional area and the

integrated planning indicator can be preassigned both in the

order type and in the model order. If a model order exists in the

order type, the values from the model order overwrite the values

from the order type [see Note 420281].

o  Object class:

If no default value is found, the values are assigned by means of
the object type (for example, overhead costs in case of internal
orders of object type ORC) via function module
   K_COST_LEDR_OBJTYPE_CONVERT.

-------

Best regards,

Jason
