Hi Aayush,

Process is similar to oracle. We need to restore the database and recover it and then roll forward.

For detailed steps refer the link

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/dm-0911sapdb2redirectedrestore/index.html

Refer section Re-directed restore method.

Hope this helps.

Hi Balram,

In our ERP (ECC6.0 + AIX + DB2 v9.7) environment we use TSM for backups.

Client has sent us the document which had short procedure they use for system copy on DB2 and they want us to follow the same. But since we are new to DB2, finding it difficult to understantd.

They use Redirected Restore method.

I would like to attach the document to this post, but there is no provision (pls suggest how can i upload it )and if after going through it you could explain the steps then it would be a great help.

Awaiting your reply, its very urgent.

Hi Aayush,

For which system you are looking to refresh is it ABAP only or ABAP+JAVA.

If ABAP+JAVA then you should go with export -import method.

Did you gone through with system copy guide for db2, If not first check go through with the guide and then prepare the plan.

Basically system refresh at db level is pretty much similar with both the database (oracle or db2).

You may perform refresh activity  through SAPinst or simply restoring the database, but should aware what option you want ti opt as both have own adv & dis-advantage.

See the below link for system copy guide ...
