Hello,

How to configure Early Watch Alert report

To configure Early watch alert some specific
settings to be done at managing system (Solution manager system) and satellite
system( or managed system – for which EWA report to be generated)

Following are the steps to configure EWA in a
satellite system :

  1)      Check whether
latest versions of ST-A, ST-PI, ST-A/PI packages are installed in the
managed/satellite system

(This check can be done going to
system->status -> Component information display in any sap screen)

2)       If they are installed, run RTCCTOOL report from SE38 transaction code of satellite
system.

Check the output of the report. If there are
some errors or warnings in the output of the report, please take corrective
actions and run the report again and ensure there are no errors

3)      Setup RFC connection between your satellite system and the solution manager system

An RFC connection can be made between 2 systems
using Transaction code SM59

  4)      Setup RFC connection between your solution manager and the SAP service market place

  5)      Assign the solution monitoring roles to the users

   6)      Setup your satellite system in a solution landscape of the solution manager(SMSY)

  7)      Make sure SLD is configured and working fine for satellite system (using Rz70 and SLDCHECK transactions)

😎      Activation of SDCCN in satellite system (Goto SDCCN transaction. Then click on Utilities
-> Activate)  then confirm for SDCC_OSS destination creation

9)      In satellite system, goto SDCCN transaction and navigate to Goto -> Settings -> Task
specific.

In the resulted screen, select RFC destination
and provide the solution manager RFC from the satellite system and set solution
manager RFC as the master system.

10)   Addition of satellite system in solution manager system in SDCCN :

Goto SMSY transaction in solman system and then
navigate to Environment -> Solution Manager Operations -> Adminstration
SDCCN to add the new service data control centre to the solution manager.

Click on add system button to add the new SDCC
to the solution manager. When prompted, please select the respective system and
client from the resulting screen and confirm

11)   Early watch service session
activation for satellite system:

In the solution manager system, execute
transaction code solution_manager  and navigate to operations ->
Earlywatch Alert and press create button. This prompts you to confirm the date
and time to run the report. Please provide the details and confirm to trigger
the generation of the report

12)   Login to satellite system, goto
transaction code SDCCN and press create button which displays a screen to
select a task to be executed. Select request session data task  and click
continue. You will be prompted to enter the schedule time to run the report.
Click now to execute it immediately. After that you can see an early watch
session running in SDCCN.

13)   After completion of this session run successfully, an
Earlywatch Alert will be generated and this can be viewed in Solution_manager
of Solution manager system.

Hi All,

Thanks for the information given.

I am facing an issue with RFC "SM_<SID>CLNT100_BACK" in SM59. The Connection test is working fine but the Authorisation test is getting failed.

The error is "Name or password is not correct(repeat logon)" in our satellite system. Neither the system user is locked in Solman and we are giving the correct password.

Also as per the Note 807895 - Incorrect logon data after remote login with SM59 we tried giving password with upper case and 8 characters and even than the autorisation test is failed.

Appreciate your inputs.

Hi Basis Expert,

Just to add to my previous message. The system on which we are doing the EWA configuration is migrated from different data center.

Hi Anil,

Login to your satellite system (the system which is connected to solman) and go to SM59. Chnage the login credential (preferred : solman_admin user) mentioned in SM_<SID>CLNT100_BACK RFC . Assign SAP_ALL to solman_admin user and also assign following roles to the user in solman server :-

SAP_BI_E2E

SAP_J2EE_ADMIN

SAP_PI_CCMS_SETUP

SAP_SDCCN_ALL

SAP_SM_BASIC_SETTINGS

SAP_SM_BI_ADMIN

SAP_SM_BI_EXTRACTOR

SAP_SM_CONF_SEC

SAP_SM_EEM_CONF

SAP_SM_SOLUTION_ALL

SAP_SM_USER_ADMIN

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC_SYSMON

SAP_SMWORK_CHANGE_MAN

SAP_SMWORK_CONFIG

SAP_SMWORK_DIAG

SAP_SMWORK_INCIDENT_MAN

SAP_SMWORK_SERVICE_DEV

SAP_SMWORK_SM_ADMIN

SAP_SMWORK_SYS_ADMIN

SAP_SMWORK_SYS_MON

SAP_SMWORK_TECH_MON

SAP_SOL_PROJ_ADMIN_ALL

Now perform the authorization test from the satellite system for SM_<SID>CLNT100_BACK RFC and check.

Hi Nilutpal,

Thanks for your input.

The RFC issue is fixed. The issue was the target host which was given was not correct. After changing the target host the issue got fixed.

Now we ran SDCCN in our satellite system and the refresh session Task processor finished [Now].

But in the solution manager system the EWA report is empty. There is no data in the report.

Appreciate your inputs.

Hi Anil,

Glad to know that your problem got sorted out. Regarding empty EWA, have you performed the following activities :-

1. Log into 000 client of ECC (satellite) system with DDIC user and schedule below two jobs on hourly basis :-

    Job Name                                                                                     Program Name

    SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR                                        RSCOLL00

    SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_JOBSTATISTIC                                          RSBPCOLL

These jobs are required to collect data for server health.

2. Also check whether SAPOSCOL is running in satellite system or not, if not start following two services :-

   A. SAPHostControl

    B. SAPHostExec

3. Now check RTCCTOOL report by executing through SE38 whether all are appearing in GREEN or not, if not , take the steps accordingly based on availed instructions.

Hi

Just want to give my input concerning creating an EWA "on demand". I had everyting configured okey in both Solman 7.1 and also in my managed system. However, after running "REFRESH SESSION" in SDCCN (on the manage system/sattelite system) there was no EWA poping up.

So here is what SAP told me in my OSS case (and even they were a bit confused at first) and it worked just fine and step 12 was what I was missing out on getting the EWA "on demand". Since the job "SM:CSDCC HANDLE TASKS" is executed daily on Solman I could only fetch my EWA the day after I created it.

  1. Log on Solution Mananger and call SOLMAN_WORKCENTER
  2. Goto tab “System monitoring” (make sure your user has *SAP_SM* authorizations)
  3. In the left hand menue, click on “Reports”
  4. Click on your solution
  5. Click on “Create”
  6. Check mark the system(s) you want to trigger an EWA for
  7. Confirm the date
  8. Click on “Call Service Data Control Center” (also known as SDCCN) and pay attention to the session number
  9. You may be prompted to log on the managed system (satellite system)
  10. Create a task called “Refresh Session” (In menu Task -> Create)
  11. Choose “Now”
  12. Wait a couple of minutes for this task to finish. Now, normally the task “SAP EarlyWatch Alert” with your session id should pop up after “Refresh Session” is finished. If not, go to Solution Manager and either wait for the SM37 job "SM:CSDCC HANDLE TASKS" to run in the solution manager or run it once yourself. SDCCN in the managed system should be able to pick the session after the job has run.

If Refresh Session does not work as expected in SDCCN in managed system (does not deliver EWA afer Refresh Session Task), then proposed solution is:

  1. Solution Manager ->  SM37, search for *SM:CSDCC* and re-execute that job. In the menu SM37 Job ->  Repeat Scheduling and choose “immediate”
  2. Re-execute “REFRESH SESSION” in SDCCN in the managed system.
  3. Now the correct “EarlyWatch Alert” appears with your expected session id.

Hope this can help if anyone else are struggeling with EWA "on demand" in Solman 7.1.

Cheers

Hi Anil,

Follow the below steps to configure EWA in solman 7.1 :-

1. Log into 000 client of ECC (satellite) system with DDIC user and schedule below two jobs on hourly basis :-

    Job Name                                                                                     Program Name

    SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR                                        RSCOLL00

    SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_JOBSTATISTIC                                         RSBPCOLL

These jobs are required to collect data for server health.

2. Also check whether SAPOSCOL is running in satellite system or not, if not start following two services :-

   A. SAPHostControl

    B. SAPHostExec

3. Now check RTCCTOOL report by executing through SE38 whether all are appearing in GREEN or not, if not , take the steps accordingly based on availed instructions.

4. Now execute SDCCN > Utilities > Activate.

5. Now GO TO > SETTINGS > TASK-SPECIFIC > Check the RFC destinations tab whether both the RFCs (SOLMAN BACK & SDCC_OSS ) are working or not.

NB: These back RFCs can be generated from Managed System Configuration tab under SOLMAN_SETUP.

6. Now go to solution manager and execute SMSY > Environment > Solution Manager Operations > Administration SDCCN . Add the satellite system and choose solution manager as master system and save it.

7. Now in satellite system under SDCCN > CREATE > Refresh Service Destinations. After creation of task, select the task and choose EDIT> START NOW.

8. After completion of this task again click on CREATE > Request Session Data > Choose PERIODIC (EarlyWatch Alert) and check the scheduling criteria. By default it gets scheduled on every Monday on weekly basis.

9. Now got to SOLMAN_WORKCENTER > Sytem Monitoring > Reports > Click on solution of respective satellite system >  You can see the EWA reports here (both standard and short formats).

Please make sure the user through which you are logged into, should have SAP_SMWORK_SYS_MON  role and business partner should be generated for the same.

Hi Anil,

1. Configure SLD & Check SLD running or not

2. Add your satellite (like ECC DEV, QTY and PRD) to SLD system and synchronous

3.Check SLDCHECK (if get error troubleshoot in TCODE: RZ70, SM59-LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI, SAPAPICUST)

4.Check SMSY transaction all entries are correct or not.

then Prabhakaran steps.
