Dear Experts,

In SXMB_MONI there is a status groups combobox, in there we can see Application Error, System Error and Error.

I wonder what are the differences between those three status.

The furthest I get searching the internet is this link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/88/09dd6970a8f34d9a1747b342af9991/content.htm

But still I don't get a satisfying answer.

Any explanation is appreciated.

Thank you,

Suwandi C.

Hi Suwandi,

●  System errors, which are triggered by messaging system. These might be errors during transfer, due to a failed server, for example.

●  Application errors, which are triggered or handled by the application alone. An example would be a request for data about a material that is unknown in the receiver system.

Thanks and Regards,

Naveen

Hi Naveen,

Does it mean that the Application Errors can only occur at the receiving system/sending system but not in PI system?

In that case does the Application Errors can only occur at synchronous interfaces?

Thank you,

Suwandi C.

Hi Suwandi,

Application error is an error controlled by the application, for example if you use the tab exception in the RFC, a system error is an error inside the system like a mapping error that throw an exception not controlled. Error is the union of the other two.
