Hi @all,

as we are facing the problem of how to assign usages to suppliers and store the supplier SDS accordingly we plan to implement REAL_SUB_E as the specification type for supplier SDS and usages.

We are running a regular SAP EH&S system on ECC 6.00, no REACH Compliance is used.

Unfortunately I can only find information about REAL_SUB_E in combination with the Compliance solutions - does that mean, we can´t use REAL_SUB_E without?

Any information on required data structure or system prerequisites is highly appriciated!

Hi !

Logically you can use, "REAL_SUB_E" to suit your demand (as you described above).

If you are more confused, simply create a new specification type for the purpose of supplier sds.

Creating a new specification type is our "last" option, as we want to stay within SAP standard as much as possible.

Do you have any more detailed information about the REAL_SUB_E? VATs and characteristics, that are assigned to this spec type?

Answer:

You can check for assigned property tree to this spec.type here,

IMG-> Environment, Health and Safety -> Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Master -> Specify Specification Types.

There, you can select the spec.type, “REAL_SUB_E” and navigate to the places listed under the dialog structure to know more about that.

Hi Chris

You can "REAL_SUB_E" type for maintaining Vendor SDS  , even if you don't Complaince tool also and you can use the Property tree RCS_real for maintain compliance information.

I do not have the recent status of that: but it seems to be that REAL_SUB_E might be shipped with SAP Produc and REACH and Compliance Suite; therefore if you haven'T installed it is then it is not available. But please check SAP Marketplace.

On any case: you can create a customer specific type as well if needed. But sometimes you should not do that becasue you will get some problems.

Therefore I can full agree to Balajees explanations.

I believe this link might help. From technical point fo view it will not help as the classes etc.shown are not explained. Therefore my question would be: which type of information you would like to store in SAP EHS Management?

REACH Uses you need as well in context of eSDS for your own company; therefore if you are using SAP standard you can maintain something. What are you missing?

we will use the REAL_SUB_E to store the Vendor SDS and all related information, eg the usages mentioned in the SDS to compare with the requirements of our production.

So we are wondering whether there is any VAT and/or charaterist8ic in the RCS_REAL that has been designed for this requirement.

We are currently using "regular" EH&S and no EHSM and/or Compliance Suites, but we want to stay in SAP Standard as much as possible.

Dear Christoph

to my knowlegde: the RCS_REAL is designed to be used with SAP Reach and Compliance Suite. Not all companies which uses SAP implement this solution. SAP ERP (and EH&S therein) is designed to support the SDS/MSDS part of REACh (refer e.g. to SAP help regarding the new "MIC" repeating group) As the appendix of the REACH SDS is a legal requirement SAP has prepare a number of Support Packages introducing / enhancing the property tree etc. so that you can handle the REACH topic for your own products and the same for products of suppliers.

Many companies used in the old time the "Cleo" content to get updates and I assume now using the SAP solution. It is not easy to get property/VAT/Characteristic updates from SAP if you are not using Cleo or the Regulatory Content solution package. I did not check SAP marketplace to identify with which SAP Support Packages the solution regardin SDS/MSDS according REACh has been shipped but it is clearly "long" ago as we are now in the last REACh phase (finished 2018) and therefore you need to have s solution in place to generate a Safety Data Sheet acoording REACh.

So if you have implemented ans SP in the last years your SAP ERP should be "ready" to handle REACh topics; and if you miss something: I believe the best option is to start OSS dialog.
