Dear Experts,
Kindly share your suggestions on this.
Impacts on upgrading from SAP PI 7.1 to SAP PI 7.4
Best Regards,
Monikandan.
We upgrade SAP PI 7.1 a SAP PI 7.4 SP13 with Impacts cero.
we have only 4 interfaces (two Z and two of Sap SD billing)
In RFC of ERP we changed "host gateway" from PI to ERP and in communication channel changed "Aplication Server (Gateway)" host from ERP to PI.
SAP PI 7.4 supports dual stack.

Hi,
If you are moving from dual stack to dual stack then its very easy to migrate and nothing much changes will be there. You need to look into ID ICO and ccBPM interfaces.
If you are planning to move to single stack then following needs to look into.
1. All proxy communication channels need to convert into SOAP with message protocol as XI.
2. ABAP mapping need to remove.
3. Need to look into XSLT mapping.
4. Some XSD tags are not supported in 7.4 applicable for both dual and single stack , deprecated tags are required to change.
5. If any interface use standard Service interfaces (Standard value mapping SI, ES bundle for Success factor, External cash desk etc) then directly migrated interfaces using tpz files from 7.1 to 7.4 will give error for version mismatch. Here need to select version 7.4.
Thanks,
Apu

Hi Jaideep,
We are planning to upgrade our PI7.0 system to PI 7.4 SP10 cloud environment. Dual stack mostly
Can you please suggest your inputs what all the needs to be consider before the upgrade.
What are the issues we may face at the time of upgrade.
Your inputs will be very helpful form me for upgrade.
Thanks
G V Anil
Hello Venkat,
AFAIK if you go for Dual stack then you do not have much advantage as SAP will not anymore work on improving the features on ABAP stack, hence it is suggested to go for Java stack installation.
For doing this you need to re-build all the ccBPMs which you have in PI 7.0 system.
Please find the below link to have an overview on moving from Dual-stack to Single-stack migration or upgrade.

Nitin
Hi Moni,
Obviously your current interfaces running in dual stack might affect,If your any of the interfaces using the adapters residing in ABAP stack and BPM interfaces, in such case we want to take a backup of previous interfaces with dual stack and to test with single stack initially or else you can go for AAE dual stack in your landscape for supporting dula stacks in SAP PI 7.3, but coming to Process Orchestration 7.4, dual stack is eliminated completely i guess and want to check whether dual stack is supported by NW 7.4.
With Regards,
Karthick

Hi,
Please have a look at http://scn.sap.com/community/process-orchestration/blog/2012/11/19/moving-integration-directory-arti...
Also, do not forget: ccBPM flows must be built up manually again. These cannot be migrated automatically.
Kind regards,
Dimitri
