SLICENSE: Changing installation number

Hi All

I have a question regarding the installation number in SLICENSE, basically, we have a license installed on or ECC system with which was created by a different company. Now we want to install a license using our own license file generated from the Service Market Place using our installation number.

What I want to know is can we just install new Standard license and it will replace the old one and change the installation number to our company's one?

STEP 1. You want to reassign your systems to another installation number withthe same customer number.

Use self service to access SAP Service Marketplace

o Access service.sap.com/system-data.

o Select your old installation and select the requested system ID.

o Choose "Reassign system" (to the right of "Delete system").

o Select an installation from the list and choose "Reassign system".

The list contains all of the installations for which you have "Request license key" authorization. The e-mail address can be changed.

Step 2. SAP send a migration key and License Keys.

Step 3. See SAPNote 816861.

   Start transaction SECSTORE

                Goto TAB ‘System Data Changed’.

                Enter the Old Installation Number.

Enter the Migration Key.

Choose Execute

Hello,

The Installation Number comes with the license. You will have to delete the old license, wich will remove the Installation number and install the new license.
