Former Member

Hi All,

Environment : BOE XI 3.1 SP5

Database : SQL Anywhere

My SIA is down and when checked in the properties, i found that one of the dependency is down which is :

- BOE120SQLAW - Down

- REMOTE Procedure Call (RPC) - Running

- Windows Event Log - Running.

Steps Tried :

- SIA > Properties > Configuration > CMS System Database Configuration .

- Clicked on update Data Source Settings > Selected Database Driver as "SQL ANYWhere" > Selected the tab "Machine Data Source".

- Selected "BOE120" DSN > Entered the database userID and password & submit.

- I receive the error message as "[Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere] Database server not found"

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Rameez

Hi Rameez,

Seems like you have issue with conenctivity issues with SQL ANYWhere.

Before checking the SIA Data Source Settings, I would request you to check your ODBC-> System DSNs.

Make sure that they are DNS Test connection is working fine.

Hi Prasad,

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the DSN as well.. it gives me the error message as "connection failed : database server not found"

Could you let me know from where to check of the server is running or not.

Thanks,

Rameez

Hi Rameez,

Are you using integrated DB which is installed with BI 4.1 or Do you have External DB as CMS DB?

Hi Rameez ,

The connection failed database server not found error suggest that the user may be locked on database side OR password is changed .

Try and unlock the user OR get the updated password .

Hi Rameez ,

We need to investigate at database side logs , please check if you can trace the connectivity with SQL PLUS or any other database connectivity tools .

Also, check some the windows system logs.
