FIM SP10 and Tomcat7

Hi,

so FIM SP10 at last support Tomcat 7. But how do you install it on tomcat7?

Until now, Tomcat6 was the only one supported so when launching the SP10 msp, it update this version.

I tried to deploy the sp9 war file in Tomcat7 (everything works fine) but when updating, the tomcat6 version is updated. If I uninstall tomcat6, I have an install error from the SP10 msp.

So my understanding is that I have to install FIM update it to SP10 in Tomcat6 then deploy the war file in Tomcat7. Any other way around that?

Is it the new install procedure untis FIM v11?

It would be great if the install note mentionned those steps.

Loic

Hello,

In fact , the default setup of FIM detects only the tomcat 6. For the moment , with the SP10 , you can only deploy FIM under tomcat 7 by following the steps bellow:

  • Install FIM+ Tomcat 6
  • Install the SP10
  • Copy the FIM War file to the Tomcat 7 Instance
  • Delete/disable Tomcat6

Hi Soumaya,

Thanks for your confirmation

Any idea if in future SP Tomcat7 will be detected? If not it means that I have to keep a tomcat6 somewhere to get the fim.war file.

Hello Loic,

May be a new full setup should be delivered to detect the installation of tomcat 7 but I have no idea when it will be available

Hi again,

If you have both of tomcat 7 and tomcat 6 installed on the
same machine and some application should be deployed under tomcat 6 once other
under tomcat 7 , you can have a look on the following note also : 1980130 - FIM: How to configure FIM v10
