Hi,

I would like know if there is any way to reset the number range. Currently, the sequence number in 2 digits and due to some business reason this is to be reset.

I would also like to know:

1. What would be the impact on the application?

2. What would be the impact on existing requester numbers?

Can  anybody please let me know how I can reset the request numbers?

Regards,

Faisal

Hi All,

In some case if business case is such that we want to start with Initial no. then alternate way could be create and select a new number range.

Process:
Step: 1
Path: SPRO>GRC>AC>User Provisioning > Maintain Number Range Intervals for provisioning Requests
1. Put Object 'GRACREQNO' Click on Display then click on Ranges
2. Now click on (editable) Intervals. Here we can add a new interval (number2 or second interval). However this interval should be outside the range of existing interval.
For Example if existing interval is 0000000001 to 0099999999 then new interval can be from 100000000 to 0100999999. Save this information

Step: 2
Path: SPRO>GRC>AC>User Provisioning > Define Number Range for Provisioning Requests
Add new entries. In 'no. range no.' field select the number saved in step 1  Save and press back button. Activate this range.

Also, please note that resetting the number range is not recommended as request numbers are to be maintained for audit purposes even if archived.

Arun

Hello Faisal,

As far as I know, it is not recommended resetting this in production environments, as request numbers need to be maintained even if archived, for audit purposes.

Also, application new ranges should not overlapp the old ones. However, I am waiting for someone who's done that in a system which has request numbers created.

Fernando,

Thanks for your reply.

I have changed my mind since I am not sure how this is done.

Hi Fernando,

what we did we have applied custom number ranges to have different number ranges per workflow type, in other words we now have different number ranges for User Access Review and different for user access management.

Resetting number range would definitely cause audit and system issues,
